Golf In Context began in preparation for a photography book on the subject of professional golf. What started as an artistic endeavor has now become a true adventure. As this project continues to evolve, I find myself guided by a single purpose: to allow the viewer to experience golf in a truly unique way. My goal is to create an instant nostalgia, to make history out of next to nothing. I'm not the one to bring you the pumping of fists and kissing of trophies*. I am looking for the quiet moment, the peculiar angle and the curious perspective. I want my photographs to earn your watch- to defy logic, to provide insight and to always intrigue. Golf is infinitely interesting, and it is my sincere hope that my photographs will add to your enjoyment and appreciation of this great game.
*Written before Tiger's triumph at Torrey Pines!
